Metta School hosted its much-anticipated Taekwondo Belt Testing Event on November 19, 2024, marking an important milestone for students in their martial arts journey. The event highlighted the students’ dedication, discipline, and progress, with impressive demonstrations of their Taekwondo skills.
Demonstrating Mastery: Poomsae and Kyukpa
During the event, students showcased their proficiency in poomsae (patterns) and kyukpa (kicks), presenting the techniques they had worked hard to perfect throughout the semester. These performances reflected not only their technical skill but also their commitment and perseverance, cultivated during rigorous training sessions.
Recognition of Excellence
The event also celebrated outstanding performers. The top two students in poomsae and kyukpa were recognized in two categories: Category A (Grades 2–3) and Category B (Grades 4–6). These awards highlighted the exceptional commitment and proficiency of the students who shone in their performances.
The scoring was carried out by esteemed judges, Sabeum R. Yudha Oktado (DAN III Kukkiwon) and Rudy Widjaja Kusuma/Master Phanto (DAN V Kukkiwon). Their expertise and professionalism ensured a fair and accurate evaluation of the students’ abilities.
A Memorable Experience for Families
Parents in attendance witnessed the culmination of their children’s efforts and growth, sharing in the pride of their achievements. The event underscored the discipline and confidence the students have developed, reinforcing the values that Taekwondo instills.
The presence of parents and family members added a special dimension to the event, as their encouragement and support made the occasion even more meaningful for the students. For many, this was a proud and emotional moment, witnessing their children reach new heights in their Taekwondo journey.
